Nonverbal Communication!

The most important thing in communication is hearing what isn't said. - Peter F. Drucker
Non-verbal communication, an expression of the face, body language in the present world reflects a person’s interest, presence of mind, nature and many other things. When referring to facial expressions or any other type involving the body or gestures, it can be more effective than oral or written communication. Your presence of mind in front of someone matters a lot as the other person judges you from your actions. Would a person like to talk to you if you are continuously moving your eyes in different directions? No, It immediately conveys that the person is not interested in your conversation. Sitting in a conference hall moving your pen on the table, show disrespect to other members of the meeting. Remember the saying "action speaks louder than words". If a person is aware of how to use nonverbal communication properly, then they will be successful either in the workplace or even meeting people on a day-to-day basis.

The following video will demonstrate the kinesics of nonverbal communications

  2. Yes, Gladys you are right Non Verbal communication accounts for 70% of the human communication. Yes, one can be wrong in understanding the gestures because gestures have different meanings in different cultures. For example, a gesture that means O.K. in UK and USA, the same gesture means Money in Japan and Zero in Russia. So basically one gesture can have different meanings in different countries.
Even the way people dress matters a lot as the person’s manner of dress conveys credibility, self-confidence and competence. A well-groomed and appropriately dressed person can attend business meetings and have more chances to have a positive response from the people. So a person should take care of the way he dresses, and also the gestures used by him, as these are an important types of Non Verbal communication
